The Space Theatre's configuration is completely flexible.

From small theatre productions, dance performances, band concerts, cabaret events and DJ set shows this venue can be adaptable to almost any function, display or theatre event.

Offering an ineffable experience to the audience between intimate reality and perfect distance, this space is simply a pleasure to be in.

The Space Theatre is a general admission venue with no traditional stage or fixed seating, so that its configuration is completely flexible. It can be turned into a theatre in the round, a corner stage setting or a cabaret venue and depending on configuration seats anywhere between 200 to 350 people.

With redevelopment works underway, access to the Space Theatre has changed.
Approach the Dunstan Playhouse and Space Theatre from the lane way between the Intercontinental Hotel and Adelaide Railway Station, walk north to the Riverbank. Or, cross the Riverbank Footbridge at Adelaide Oval, heading south to the Riverbank. There is no through access to the Space Theatre from King William Road or the Festival Theatre.

A drop off zone with two accessible car parks is located on Festival Drive East, accessible via Montefiore Road.
