The Vegan Festival is returning this December, and it's set to be bigger and better than ever!
Join us on Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th, from 11am to 5pm at the picturesque Rundle Park/Kadlitpina, right in the heart of Adelaide's CBD.
Whether you're a long-time vegan or just curious about plant-based living, this event has been a favorite since it kicked off in 2007!
This year's festival is packed with everything you've loved from past events, plus some exciting new surprises. We'll be celebrating kindness to all beings, with over 60 stalls offering delicious plant-based food and cruelty-free products. From mouth-watering snacks to adorable furry friends, it's going to be an unforgettable weekend!
There's something for everyone-live music by local vegan artists, hands-on workshops like yoga and activism, and inspiring talks from passionate speakers and chefs. You'll learn all about plant-based living and maybe even find yourself inspired to make a change!
Some of the amazing vendors include Staazi & Co., one of the world's top 10 vegan food trucks, plus favorites like Nagev, Sassi Ice Cream, and more. Indulge in everything from vegan burgers to gluten-free donuts, and wash it all down with refreshing mocktails.
Get a head start on your ethical Christmas shopping, too! You'll find unique gifts, and there's plenty of fun for the whole family with craft activities, a kids' disco, and even giant chess. Plus, we're excited to introduce a vegan sausage sizzle this year-showing that even classic Aussie treats can be cruelty-free!
As the festival's founder Lea McBride says, "What makes Vegan Festival Adelaide so special is the sense of community. It's a safe, supportive space where we share both the challenges and joys of being part of a movement."
The weekend will kick off with Zacchary Bird's fun and energetic "Animal Rights Aerobics," and you'll hear from experts like Rebecca Stonor and Dr. Heleene Haitjema of Doctors for Nutrition, who'll share their plant-based cooking tips. Activist Kristy Alger will dive into topics like greyhound racing, and Yolanda Soryl will inspire with her 35-year vegan journey. Plus, if cricket legend Jason Gillespie isn't busy commentating the Australia vs. India Test match, he might just pop by as the festival's proud patron!
Reflecting on how far the festival has come, Lea McBride shares, "We've grown from just 1,000 people in 2007 to an amazing 15,000 to 18,000 attendees over two days. Our mission is to keep educating, celebrating, and spreading the vegan message across Adelaide and beyond."
