Adelaide Gaol |
Adelaide Gaol is a major part of Adelaide's heritage.
Adelaide Gaol's history extends from the time of the early settler's right through to today. As one of the oldest public building in Adelaide, the Adelaide Gaol has much to offer every visitor.
Treat your visit as a learning experience and find out about Adelaide's penal history or learn about the Adelaide Gaol's architecture.
You can hear some of the fascinating stories of the Gaol's prisoners, their life behind bars, and the ghosts roaming the grounds.
The Adelaide Gaol is believed to be one of the most haunted sites in South Australia.
You may prefer a more chilling night visit to the Gaol on one of our regular Ghost Tours where you will hear about many of the Adelaide Gaol's ghostly activities.
We offer something for everyone with a range of ghost tours, history tours and paranormal investigations.
The Adelaide Gaol Preservation Society Inc. is a 'not for profit' organisation which supports the South Australian Government in promoting and preserving the Adelaide Gaol as an educational museum, a major tourist attraction and a valuable part of South Australia's heritage.
We now run our famous guided tours under license to the Department for Environment and Water.
The Adelaide Gaol Preservation Society is run entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers were instrumental in researching, developing and presenting the original and authentic Adelaide Gaol Tours. We were the first organisation to offer History Tours of the Adelaide Gaol and our members also initiated the original paranormal research which led to our authentic Ghost Tours and Paranormal Investigations.
We are not affiliated with any privately run Adelaide Gaol tour operator.
