Australian Survivor: Blood V Water is the ninth season of Australian Survivor, which premiered on Network 10 on 31 January 2022.

The season was filmed in Charters Towers, Queensland.

The show concluded on 4 April 2022 with Mark Wales being named Sole Survivor, defeating Shay Lajoie and Chrissy Zaremba, receiving a unanimous jury vote of 10-0-0.

In Blood v Water, players will be competing as pairs, bound by blood.

Think siblings, married couples, in-laws, twins or cousins each fighting the elements together but at the end of the day there can only be one Sole Survivor, so do these castaways have what it takes to blindside their own blood?

We sure hope so.

The theme has featured twice in the US version of the series in 2013 with the titular Survivor: Blood vs Water, and again in 2014 with Survivor: San Juan del Sur.

The American version of Survivor premiered in 2000 and now in it's 41st season. Survivor places a group of strangers in an isolated location where they must provide food fire and shelter for themselves compete in physical and mental challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains and is given the title of "Sole Survivor" who is awarded the grand prize (US$1m - AU$250K).
