The Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, usually referred to simply as Tandanya, is an art museum located on Grenfell Street in Adelaide, South Australia. Tandanyas name reflects the organisations ongoing commitment to honour and respect the traditional owners and custodians for this country.
Tandanya is the Kaurna (pronounced Garna) word for place of the Red Kangaroo.
The Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute promotes Indigenous Australian art, including visual art, music and storytelling.
Tandanya is a visionary and vibrant place for all to explore and experience contemporary and traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural expression, through the performing and visual arts.
As a visitor to Tandanya, you can meet Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, walk through diverse and exciting exhibitions in our art galleries, watch our cultural presentation and yidaki (didgeridoo) or dance performance.
