Barossa Park

Barossa Park

Barossa Park has a oval, a recreation green/second oval and a multi-purpose 300-seat event space, commercial kitchen, clubroom, change facilities and gym.

A redevelopment of Lyndoch Recreation Park, known as the Barossa Park Project includes the upgrade of the existing oval to meet AFL standards, a recreation green/second oval supporting relocation of athletics and a new multi-purpose building comprising a 300-seat event space, commercial kitchen, clubroom, change facilities and gym.

New netball courts, playground and family garden, shelters and landscaping are also planned for the precinct.

The facilities will cater for major arts, festivals and community events, creating potential for another 18,000 visitor stays in the Barossa each year.

Based on current contingencies and trade packages, as well as the final four packages going to the market, the total project cost for Barossa Park is estimated at between $41-$45.7 million. Council continues to seek additional funding, and due to strong budget performance outcomes from the 2023-24 financial year, there is no long-term impact on Council finances, should the maximum amount be necessary.

Barossa Park Project Completed 2025

The SA government and the Barossa Council each contributed $20 million to upgrade the Lyndoch Recreation Park into two ovals with a 350-seat event space and clubrooms.
